The football team travels to Lawrence to take on the  Free State Firebirds. The game starts at 7 P.M. tonight.

Out of all the games that will be played during regular season, this is one of the most crucial games that we will play. Pre-season rankings for Sunflower League, ranked us as number 1, with Free State number 2. With both teams currently standing at 3-0, this game will move one of the two teams to 4-0 and the other one to 3-1. Last year, we beat Free State 48-21 at sub-state securing our spot in the state championship. Having won 14 straight games since the beginning of the 2012 season, you could say this game is important for us.

As of right now, we are ranked 3rd in the state of Kansas, with a ranking of 275 in the nation. Free State is ranked 15 in the state, along with a ranking of 1037 in the nation.

Out of the 18 times we have played Free State we have won 10 games.  73  of 142 voters think that Free State is going to pull out a win tomorrow. There is no easy way to determine who is going to win the game.

Everyone should head to Lawrence tonight and support the Vikings as they take on the Firebird’s.
