Another innocent soul has left the Shawnee Mission West student body. Houston St. John was a junior that was involved in theatre and drama. He had many lead performances in many plays and devoted most of his time to his passion.

Houston St. John died in a car crash on Interstate 435 near Lackman Road Tuesday afternoon at about 1:05 p.m. We aren’t sure why but Houston lost control and got t-boned by a truck. Both drivers were wearing seat belts but, unfortunately, that did not help Houston.

Many say Houston was one of the kindest people they have ever met and he will definitely be remembered. Rest in peace Houston St. John. We all will miss you.
