XC State recap

The state teams after the meet at Rim Rock

After a season full of surprises, the cross country team achieved their goal of sending runners to the state meet. Although Reilly Wiscombe felt a little under the weather earlier that week, he toughed it out and ran anyway, finishing in 48th place. Freshman Amber Reed had a phenomenal race finishing in 7th place. Seniors Chloe Mcmahon and Alex Elliot powered through the tough course and came in 22nd and 33rd, respectively. Freshman Riley Kaiser, at her first state meet, ended in 34th place, sophomore Emma Stamm came in 44th place, senior Bailey Stewart, who had a magnificent senior season, finished in 70th place and sophomore Fallon Mcginnis finished in 79th place.

This up and coming team, who no one believed could do anything this season, surprised everyone with incredible times and huge upsets. The Vikings will say goodbye to a great group of seniors and look forward to continued success next fall.
