West’s Annual Beatnik Café was held on Friday the 17th.

Juniors and Seniors attend this event during their English block to listen to students in Writers Workshop read their poetry.

It is held in the little theatre and is decorated to fit the theme with posters around the room of quotes. Along with other events like Writer’s Walk and The Feast, this is a time for students to perform original poetry pieces for their fellow peers.

Many Writer’s Workshop alumni come to watch and perform as well. It is something many students look forward to all year!
