#EsuranceSave30
After the Super Bowl, many tweeters were using the hashtag #EsuranceSave30 for their chance to win $1.5 million dollars.
Brandon Baudry @thebaudry: #EsuranceSave30 #ImBroke #HelpMe
Hunter Henry @BigHeavy: Hey @esurance, if I win the $1.5 million, i’ll promptly donate half of the winnings to SM West high school! #EsuranceSave30
I must’ve missed the commercial because I had no idea what everyone was talking about. I was curious to see what the big deal was so I looked up why everyone was tweeting it.
Since Esurance didn’t pay to have their commercial during the Super Bowl, they spent less money to be the first commercial after the big bowl game. They saved 30 percent just by having their commercial after the game. They used the money that they saved to do a giveaway on Twitter. This is the biggest giveaway that has appeared on social media. Anyone who tweets #EsuranceSave30 until 4 A.M on Tuesday is entered into the giveaway. It is only open to U.S Twitter users, which excludes Hawaii and Alaska. A person can enter as many times as they want; each tweet counts as one entry. The winner will be announced on Wednesday at Jimmy Kimmel Live.
