Girls Swim and Dive
Splish, splash, and dive.
Girls swim and dive season is quickly approaching and students are starting to get pumped.
“I’m really excited and I expect us to do very well this year,” Junior Kayla Roith said.
Swim and dive is a difficult, endurance filled sport where swimmers throw their bodies into the pool and slice through the water in the hopes of swimming faster than their competitors. This is by no means an easy sport. These girls put a lot of time and energy into training to be the best.
The informational meeting was held on Wednesday, February 19th for students interested in trying out. The meeting took place in the little theater and began at 3 p.m. The first practice for members of both the varsity and junior varsity teams will be held here at West, bright and early at 6 a.m. on Monday, March 3rd.
Both teams are expected to do very well and have an interesting season. If you haven’t been to a girls swim and dive meet, make sure you take the time to stop by this spring to help cheer on your fellow vikings.
Good luck to all of the ladies trying out!
