The Next Dynamic Duo
From Peyton and Eli to Venus and Serena, sibling duos are always a sight to see in any sport. When they play against each other we can see the lifelong rivalry two brothers may have. On the other hand, when playing together, a certain pair of sisters are a spectacle that can amaze anyone. In just two short years Sinclaire Miramontez will join her sister Sydney at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I sat down with Sinclaire to talk about her recent commitment and thoughts about next year.
“I committed this past saturday,” she told me,”I chose between KU, Arkansas, Texas and Nebraska. Those are the ones I really looked into.”
As you can tell, Sinclaire was not short of high quality offers. But among the myriad of colleges seeking her talents, one school stood high above the rest. Not only does Sinclaire realize the rare chance she has to play college soccer with her sister, but there are plenty of other reasons why Nebraska is the school for her.
“Nebraska is only three hours away from home, so should I need to come home for anything I could…getting to play with Sydney is an experience not a lot of people get to have…they had a lot of success this year so that shows that their program is really building up…it just feels like home.”
The sisters played for West together last year and Sinclaire feels that college will be similar. However, she understands that college is a much larger scale with greater intensity and higher expectations. With 13+ years of soccer under her belt Sinclaire is ready for her bright soccer career not only at West but at Nebraska as well. We look forward to seeing her dominate the pitch this season and help our Vikings to victory.
