MAY

WESTPORT ROOTS FESTIVAL: Uniting performers and lovers of Americana, Bluegrass, Roots, Rockabilly, Punk and Folk music in the heart of Kansas City.

FESTA ITALIANA: The unique celebration of Italian traditions and Italian-American culture. This popular family event has FREE admission and showcases Italian food booths, vendors, live Italian music, dancers, a kids play area and much more!

JUNE

OLD SHAWNEE DAYS: A free weekend-long festival with local bands, entertainment for both adults and kids, crafts and vendors, the carnival and parade, games and contests, and much more.

PARKERVILLE RIVER JAM: Festival for family and neighbors showcasing musicians, artists and fantastic food.

BOULIVARDIA: A three-day street festival will be highlighted with food sampling experience, but will also include family activities, entertainment, shopping, and eco-education in a unique urban setting.

SWAN ARTS FESTIVAL: An event mainly with fine arts regional and national also highlighting live music, children’s activities, delicious food, art demonstrations, and vendors.

LATINO ART BRAVISIMO: The show features Kansas City Metro area artists of Latino heritage who create a variety of two- and three-dimensional art styles using a variety of media including drawing, painting, fiber, photography, clay and metal.

GREAT LENEXA BBQ BATTLE: A competition where the judges have the difficult task of identifying the best barbeque among seven different categories, including brisket, pork, ribs, sausage, chicken, whole animal and miscellaneous.

JULY

KC RIVER FEST 2014: Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Kansas City. A known riverfront tradition with great rock, alternative, country and ragtime music, delicious food, carnival rides and games, and one of the largest fireworks shows in the area.

MOONLIGHT BIKE RIDE: Join hundreds of bicyclists for a spectacular ride on Lenexa streets at night with your friends and family.

AUGUST

TAILS ON THE TRAILS PET FESTIVAL: For a day of fun with your dog, come to Lenexa’s Tails on the Trails Pet Festival. Located at Ad Astra pool and park. Dogs swims are $5 per dog per session (pre-registered), and $8 per dog per session the day of the event.
